A Moose BooshStart a cookbook

The first one

How this started

Beth and I got married on the 1st of August, 2026. I wanted a surprise guestbook, something that put Beth’s love of cooking together with a piece of memorabilia we would actually use.

Instead of a book to sign, we asked everyone coming to send us a recipe. The thing they cook when people come round. The one their mum taught them. Whatever they’d want us to have.

We called it A Moose Boosh, a bad joke about amuse-bouche and a play on the name of one of our cats, Moose. It came back as a hardback book with a page for every person, and a space under every recipe for them to write something on the day.

People sat with it. They read each other’s pages. They wrote things we still go back and read. And enough of them asked how to make one that we started building this.

The original book: a bright red cover with a painted lemon, made for our wedding
The first one. A photograph of the real thing goes here once the proof print is shot.

It is the same book, made properly, for anyone who wants one.
